Trail Buddies

If you run trails it's only a matter of time before you run into trail buddies. I ran into this Scorpion last night on Turtle Ridge. Did you know that Scorpions can live for a year on just one meal? Scientist have found they can be put in a freezer over night and walk away the next day. Now that is a survivor!

That's a scary looking trail buddy. Recently, my trail critter sightings have been mostly scorpions and tarantulas. As long as it's not snakes, that's fine with me!

Here its rattlesnakes. You see one and you suddenly think you see them everywhere, even when it's really a rope or long, curly branch. I guess scorpions are really great conservationists!

I see rattlers too...but I prefer scorpions! not as mobile.

Thankfully there aren't that many scorpions on the trails here in Sweden. Good thing too, otherwise I'd never even leave the house *brrr*

Shaman...I'll take scorpions over cold and short days, anytime of the year! Keep the faith!

I love scorpions even though I've been stung several times. Luckily not very poisonous one's! It is very very painful though. They are tough.
